Despite rumors he is retiring at the end of this year, District 4 Fulton County Commissioner Tom Lowe said he has still not decided whether or not he will run for re-election.

Lowe, in his 10th term as commissioner, is entering his 40th year in office. He lives in Sandy Springs and his district includes that city and Buckhead and part of Roswell. In an interview Monday afternoon, the 85-year-old said he is keeping his re-election bid options open.

“I don’t know,” Lowe said when asked if he would run again. “I’ve still got everything wide open. I’ll make a decision when the time comes.”

That time could be this spring, when qualifying arrives for candidates in the Republican primary election.
