On a team brimming with playmakers, the junior quarterback has emerged to make big plays of his own during the Chargers’ run to the state title game.
Etheridge and company have compiled a 12-1 record — looking as dominant as any of the top tier teams across all classifications in the process — heading into Saturday’s game against Prince Avenue Christian.
Whether scoring through the air or as a ball carrier, Etheridge has managed to help keep the Chargers offense on par with the team’s smothering defensive unit.
Look for the ELCA signal caller to try to do much of the same in this weekend’s state championship game. If that indeed turns out to be the case, he and the rest of the Chargers should be hoisting the GHSA hardware they’ve fought all season for.
