Junior quarterback Aaron Winchester had a strong start to the 2013 campaign leading the Mt. Pisgah football team to a dominating 48-14 win at Mt. Vernon in Atlanta on Aug. 24. He had a combined 279 total yards in the contest and threw for three touchdown passes.

Winchester first touchdown pass came on a 44-yard strike to Tommy Pease in the first quarter. The next two scores from the air courtesy of Winchester were on a 16-yard TD pass to Pease and a 23-yard pass to Browning Dunn.

Overall, Winchester threw for 198 yards and rushed for 81.

“I’m proud of Aaron,” said Mt. Pisgah head coach Mike Forester. “He had a great summer and is one of the the hardest working players on our team. Offensively, Aaron will be the key to how our season will go.”

The Patriots return to action Friday at Model.
