Davonte Fitzgerald is the latest in a long line of uber-talented players to suit up for Tucker’s vaunted varsity hoops program.

As he has become accustomed to doing throughout his prep career, the dynamic 6 foot 7 senior swingman has routinely been lighting up opponents and the scoreboard for the Tigers this season.

“He’s the real deal,” said Tucker coach James Hartry. “Anything you need him to do on the basketball court, he can do it and do it with ease.”

Program insiders think Fitzgerald, a Texas A & M commitment, has all the tools to live up to the legacy established by former Tucker alums like current MarShon Brooks of the NBA’s Brooklyn Nets and Georgia State University standout Manny Atkins.

“Davonte can play in the backcourt for us or down in the post … he’s going to get us points, he can hit the boards for us and he can also set his teammates up, said Hartry.

“If you have somebody like that who can impact the game in so many ways … you can then do a lot as a team provided everything else falls into place around that,” he added.
