At the forefront of their offensive success is junior attacker Jake Jenkins, a three-year starter that has posted a team-leading 23 scores through the season’s first five weeks.
“He has an uncanny ability to be in the right place at the right time and knows what kind of shot to take and where to place it,” said Milton lacrosse coach Tom Dell of Jenkins.
Jake’s 23 goals this season include an impressive three goals each in wins over defending AAAA state champion Lambert and 2012 AAAAA runner-up Lassiter.
Playing in a lineup filled with some of the state’s premier lacrosse players, Dell called Jenkins the quarterback of his talented offense due to his ability to make the big play himself or set his teammates up to score.
“Not only does he get himself in the right place but he also gets the rest of the team there as well,” said the Milton coach of Jenkins, who also has a team-leading 10 assists.
“He is our leader on and off the field and an all-around great kid.”
