Entering the season as one of the most highly touted quarterback prospects in Georgia, the pressure was on Joshua Dobbs to perform well during his senior campaign.

Through five games this fall, the 6-foot-4 190 pound Arizona State commit has yet to disappoint.

As the point man in Alpharetta’s “Air Raid” offense, the second year starter has unleashed an aerial assault on opposing defenses — completing 102-of-192 passes on the season and tossing a region-leading 10 touchdown passes.

In Alpharetta’s week four game against West Forsyth — the No. 5 ranked team in AAAAAA — Dobbs was at an all-time best. The senior threw for a school record 512 yards and five touchdowns, making him just the seventh quarterback in Georgia high school football history to throw for over 500 yards in a game and doing so for just the eighth time overall.

His 1,565 total passing yards is good for a 313 yard per game average, has him on pace for his second straight 3,000 yard season and ranks him No. 1 in the state of Georgia in total passing yards.

Dobbs’ success hasn’t been limited to the passing game either.

A week ago against South Forsyth he scampered into the end zone twice, from 42 and 36 yards out, leading the Raiders to a 21-0 win over South Forsyth and giving Dobbs a team-leading ten rushing touchdowns on the season.

Really impressive stuff. Great story and best of luck to Josh and his teammates the rest of the season. Looking forward to seeing Mr Dobbs at Arizona State next year.

Go Devils!
