Quinton Stephens is a big reason behind Marist’s success this season.

The dynamic 6 foot 9 standout is averaging 20 points and nine rebounds per game.

That level of production is remarkable given the fact that opponents routinely game plan to contain and/or stop Stephens.

“A lot of [opposing teams] key on him … but he knows how to play off the ball, which is actually working to our benefit,” said War Eagles coach Greg McClaire. “He doesn’t get frustrated and he passes the ball well.”

Stephens is as versatile as they come. The Georgia Tech-bound senior can play shooting guard and both forward positions — a luxury Marist has been taking full advantage of.

Stephens has been a key contributor on a team that has again advanced to the state quarterfinals. Look for him to put up big numbers whenever necessary to keep the War Eagles’ postseason train on the tracks.

Whatever happens, in all likelihood Stephens will go down as one of the best to have suited up under the Marist hoops banner.
