Tondric Johnson’s hard work has paid off in a big way.

The Henry County High combo guard assessed his game in the offseason, ultimately deciding to shore up the facets that needed improvement.

“I have become more aggressive and more of a defensive-minded player,” said the Warhawks standout. “My (overall) game is what it is now by me working hard and training during the season and during the offseason.”

Johnson’s development and individual success on the hardwood have contributed to a solid season thus far for his team. Henry County is once again poised to contend for a region title and beyond.

There’s not much that the talented lefty can’t do on the court. Consistent production on the offensive end comes in a variety of ways ... knocking down jumpers, slashing to the basket and taking advantage of opportunities to score in the post when they present themselves.

But his dynamic skillset is bolstered by a list of intangibles that younger players should be mindful of.

“Leadership, work ethic, self-motivated, faith ... that’s pretty much me,” said Johnson.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Look for him to play his best ball when the stakes are highest.
