Austin Krzeminski played a crucial role in Roswell’s run to the Class AAAAAA state baseball finals last year.

The junior pitcher/right fielder is once again doing his part in keeping the Hornets in the mix in 2014.

Krzeminski pitched a complete-game victory in Roswell’s 2-1 win over Region 5AAAAAA rival Etowah in eight innings last Tuesday, scoring the winning run for the Hornets in the bottom of the eighth.

In last year’s AAAAAA state playoffs, Krzeminski won four games to help lead Roswell to the championship series, where the Hornets would end up losing to north Fulton rival Milton.

He got Roswell off to a strong start in its semifinal series with Walton last year, pitching a complete-game shutout to lead the Hornets to a 7-0 victory in the opening game.

“He’s a very competitive kid,” Roswell coach Mike Power said. “He’s a very intense kid on the mound. He’s got that experience from last year’s state playoffs and that has helped him a lot this year.”

Krzeminski has already secured a spot on the NCAA Division I college level after committing to Georgia Tech.
