The senior attacker/midfielder has led the way in scoring for the Spartans so far in the 2013 season with six goals and two assists.
Most of his scoring came in North Springs’ 7-4 victory over Cambridge Feb,. 21, when he contributed three goals and two assists.
Along with his offensive output, Fancher provides a strong veteran presence on a young team that features mostly freshmen and sophomores.
It is this combination of scoring and leadership abilities that makes Fancher such a key player for the Spartans, according to coach Paul Brown.
“Eric Fancher is one of the better players in the state,” Brown said. “He’s a strong leader for us. He’s the kind of kid that every coach wants on his team.”
Fancher will be moving on to the college level next season after signing a letter-of-intent with Young Harris College.
