Grant Drakeford is the kind of quarterback who is as much of a threat with his legs as he is with his arm.

The Riverwood senior’s multi-faceted game was very much on display in the Raiders’ narrow 34-32 loss to Northview Sept. 27.

Drakeford completed eight of 19 passes for 155 yards and three touchdowns, while also scoring on a 45-yard run.

For the season, Drakeford has accumulated 1,088 total yards and 13 touchdowns. He has completed 36 of 62 passes (58 percent) for 656 yards and six touchdowns, while rushing 63 times for 432 yards (6.9 per carry) and seven touchdowns.

He was honored by the North Fulton Forsyth Touchdown Club as its Offensive Player of the Week Sept. 23.

“Grant is having a fine year — not only statistically, but in leading our offense,” Riverwood coach Robert Ingram said. “He is doing a great job with his reads and putting us into the correct plays on his checks at the line of scrimmage. That all comes from his preparation during the week. He is a great student of the game and it shows in his performance each week.”
