When it comes to scoring, Landmark Christian senior Justin Ross is very efficient. As a result, Ross became the second War Eagle in three seasons to register 1,000 points.

On Dec. 20 in the opener of a Christmas tournament in Florida, Ross reached the milestone in a 62-53 win over Mt. Dora.

“It was great,” said Ross, who is averaging 21 points this season. “I was proud. I knew I was close. It’s probably my greatest accomplishment so far in my high school career.”

“To do this early in his senior year is a great accomplishment,” LCS boys’ coach Chip McAllister said. “He does it within the frame work of what we do. He doesn’t ever take bad shots. Anybody can go out and score a bunch of points if they are taking a bunch of shots but he’s always shot a good percentage.”

Houston Kessler, now a member of the Georgia Bulldogs, reached the 1,000-point mark two seasons ago.

Even though Ross knows how to put the ball in the basket, the 6-foot-4 guard is unsure about playing basketball in college.

Ross has a 3.5 grade-point average and plans to major in business at either Georgia Southern or Mercer.
