In the Titans game against St. Pius X, it was Patrick Lamar’s turn to shine.
The 6-foot senior guard scored 22 points to lead Blessed Trinity to a 43-38 victory over its Region 6AAA rival Jan. 14.
He maintained his hot hand in the Titans’ 72-57 over McNair Jan. 17 – scoring 11 points and hitting three 3-pointers.
Lamar has been a consistent presence for Blessed Trinity, ranking second on the team in scoring with 12 points a game as well as leading the squad in both assists (seven per game) and steals (2.5 per contest). He is also a contributor on the boards with 4.5 rebounds a game.
“He’s really the cog in the whole thing,” Blessed Trinity coach Brian Marks said. “He scores, he defends, he rebounds the ball well out of the guard position. He’s the guy who makes us go.”
Lamar, who is in his third year on the Blessed Trinity varsity, was an All-Region 6AAAAAA selection as a junior last season.
