Reilly Friedman finished his junior season the same way he concluded his sophomore campaign – with a state cross country championship.

The Galloway standout was the first to cross the finish line again in the Class A private school boys’ race at the state cross country meet in Carrollton last Saturday, where he claimed his second straight title with a time of 16 minutes, 29.80 seconds.

Friedman won in dominating fashion as he led most of the way and finished about 32 seconds ahead of runner-up Robby Keough of Whitefield (17:01.25).

Last year, he won the Class A private school title with a time of 15:50 and was 12th in Class A (16:59) as a freshman in 2011.

The state title caps of another outstanding season for Friedman, whose personal-best time of 15:14 that he ran at the Alexander/Asics Invitational in Douglasville Oct. 12 is the sixth fastest mark in the state this year.
