‘It was great experience to play in the Dome and to have the game of a lifetime,” said Davis, whose team, the Atlanta Junior All-Stars, also won the game 19-7 against the Augusta All-Stars. “It was definitely exciting.”
Union Grove junior David Durden was also a member of the team, and players from Dutchtown, Luella and Ola also participated in the same game or one of the Senior All-Star games.
“It was definitely cool that I got noticed to play with some of the best talent in the area,” Davis said.
This past season, Davis made six of his 11 field-goal attempts and averaged 39 yards a punt. His longest field goal was 41 yards and he placed 15 punts inside the opponents’ 20-yard line.
“Punting might be my favorite thing because there is no better feeling than when you’re backed up on your own side of the field and you flip the field,” Davis said. “Everybody gets really hyped up when you have a big punt.”
Davis, who has a 3.7 grade-point average, wants to kick in college as well.
