Xavier Jackson has been the “X-Factor” for Centennial this season.

The 6-foot-2 senior guard leads the Knights in scoring with 18.3 points a game, in rebounds with six per contest and assists with 2.9 a game.

Jackson has had a number of big games this season, scoring a season-high 29 points in an 80-54 loss to Marietta Nov. 16 as well as 26 points and 15 rebounds in a 61-55 victory over Johns Creek Jan. 8.

In recent games, he scored 24 points in a 74-52 win over South Forsyth Feb. 1 and had 22 points in a 74-58 loss to Johns Creek last Tuesday.

As only one of two seniors on the roster, Jackson has taken a leadership role on a young Centennial team that has secured a third-place finish in Region 6AAAAAA this season.

“X has a lot of potential to play at the next level,” Centennial coach Joe Eineker said. “We have counted on him all season on both ends of the floor and in a season that has had its ups and downs, X continues to get us where we need to go.

“I am really impressed – especially lately – with how he has developed his feel for the game. He has a good feel for how his teammates are going to react in difficult situations.”
