The Distinguished Service Award is given every year to individuals from within the NIAAA membership in recognition of their length of service, special accomplishments and contributions to interscholastic athletics at the local, state and national levels.
Nominations are submitted by state athletic director associations, screened by the NIAAA awards committee and chosen by the organization’s board of directors.
During Marshall’s tenure at Marist, which began in 1996, the school was ranked 15th in the nation among high athletic program by Sports Illustrated in 2005 and has been awarded the Director’s Cup 13 consecutive years as the best overall program in the state in its classification.
Marshall is a past president of the Georgia Athletic Directors Association and has been selected as GADA region athletic director of the year in 2002 and ’07.
