Milton High School hosts marching band competition

Milton High School will host the ninth annual White Columns Marching Band Invitational on Saturday featuring 12 marching bands from across the metro area.

This year’s competitors include Roswell, Dacula, Salem, Madison County, Northgate, Wheeler, Ola, Lowndes County, Fayette County, East Coweta, Mill Creek and East Hall high schools. In addition, the Milton High School marching band will perform an exhibition at the end of the evening.

“This year’s White Columns Invitational is going to be one of the finest in recent years, and we’re very proud to have so many excellent marching bands competing,” Chris Shumick, Milton High School’s director of bands, said in a news release.

The White Columns Invitational will be held at the Milton High School Stadium from 3:30 to 10 p.m. with free parking. Admission is $10 for adults and $7 for seniors and children ages 4 to 12. Children under 3 are admitted free.
