Atlanta’s NBC affiliate will be broadcasting live from a location on Old Roswell Street from 5 to 7 a.m. and shining its spotlight on the exciting things that are going on in the community.
The city of Alpharetta is inviting residents and organizations to be a part of the broadcast and is creating a fun environment to encourage a big turnout.
“We want to show Metro Atlanta the energy that Alpharetta has,” said Assistant City Administrator James Drinkard. “Recognizing that folks may need a little encouragement early in the morning, we will have entertainment on hand from Music Matters and a couple of the most popular food trucks from our weekly Food Truck Alley will be serving breakfast menus. Our downtown merchants will also be getting in on the act, so this will really be a fun event.”
Residents are encouraged to arrive by 4:30 a.m. and to bring homemade signs and a lot of energy so they will be noticed in the crowd during the broadcast.
“Think about the crowds that you see behind Al Roker when he is on the sidewalk during the Today Show,” Drinkard said. “We want to have that kind of crowd, that kind of energy, to show what our residents are really like.”
The broadcast will be done from the city parking lot on Old Roswell Street behind Smokejack and Sis and Moon.
Parking will be available at the Roswell Street Parking lot located across from La Casa Restaurant, 35 Old Roswell Street.
