NEIGHBORHOOD WATCH: Special Delivery

Recent police reports of note. All reports were supplied by local police departments.

SPECIAL DELIVERY: A Papa Johns Pizza delivery driver reported a man pointed a gun at him June 19 while he was making a delivery in the Summer Creek Community off Alvin Road. The driver said the man shone a flashlight into his car and told him to slow down when he entered the neighborhood. The man allegedly pointed a gun at the driver when exiting the neighborhood. The man, who lives in the community, told Johns Creek police he did have a gun but never removed it from its holster. He admitted pointing a flashlight at the delivery driver who he claims was speeding through the neighborhood and almost ran him over twice. Two witnesses corroborated the resident’s story. The resident had a permit for the gun and no arrests were made.

BLING BURGLARY: After leaving home June 28 for about 35 minutes, a Charlotte Drive resident returned to find her garage door entry way had been tampered with. Milton police reported the entry way and the master bedroom appeared to have been disturbed. In the bedroom, several drawers from a jewelry box were removed. The resident reported 12 pieces of jewelry missing or damaged, resulting in an estimated loss of $9,550, including the damage to her home.

HONDA HEIST: Milton police were dispatched to a home on Creek View Court June 24 on a report of theft. A man said he noticed his 2005 Honda Element sounded unusually loud when he started it that morning although it had been running normally the night before. After looking underneath the vehicle, he noticed the catalytic converter was missing and some miscellaneous parts were on the ground underneath his vehicle.

TAX THREAT: A Roswell resident reported receiving a call June 26 from a man alleging to be a police officer. He claimed she owed the IRS some money and threatened if she did not pay, a warrant would be issued for her arrest.

LOCKER LIFT: Three victims reported their lockers had been broken into at LA Fitness at 1475 Holcomb Bridge Road on the evening of June 26. While they were working out, two wallets, an iPhone 3, an iPhone 5 and an iPod were reported to have been taken. The same evening at LA Fitness at 5530 Windward Parkway, an unknown suspect was reported to have entered into nine lockers in the men’s locker room, taking various items from iPhones to wallets. All the locks were pried off.

CONSTRUCTION DESTRUCTION: Damage was reported at a construction site at 285 S. Main Street in Alpharetta on June 20. Sometime overnight, an unknown suspect spray-painted a pentagram on the floor and damaged a table, a ladder and a filing cabinet.

The names and charges above are from area arrest warrants and crime reports. A warrant is merely an accusation of a crime, and accused people are innocent until proven guilty.
