Chattahoochee volleyball has become a viable contender for a state championship and the leader of the Cougars strong performance in 2013 has been senior libero Claudia Coco.

Earlier this year in a match against McIntosh, Coco broke the Georgia all-time individual career digs record, besting the mark of 1,930 set by Lindsey Weider of Daluca from 2003-06. The University of Tennessee commit now has close to 2,100 digs for her career, including more than 250 in 2013.

“I know it is a huge goal that Claudia set for herself,” Chattahoochee head coach Jennie Blevins said. “I am so proud of her for not only reaching it, but doing it so early in the season.”

Coco has also found success with her A5 Volleyball club team based in Roswell and was named to the All-State team in 2012.

“This accomplishment really just puts us on the map even more as a strong volleyball program, which Claudia has played a huge part in molding the past four years,” Blevins said. “She is also showing all the other girls that if you work hard, you can obtain the 'unobtainable' goal.”

Chattahoochee, which has won 12 of its first 17 matches, returns to action on Thursday against Milton and Pope.
