After a difficult start to its 2013 campaign, Dunwoody softball rebounded by winning its first eight region contests, outscoring its opponents 94-15 during the winning streak. The main catalyst has been sophomore shortstop Kaylyn Sinisgali.

She leads the team with two home runs on the season and is tied for second in stolen bases (5) and walks (8).

“She has been consistent at the plate and defensively for us,” Wildcats head coach Kerry Brown said.

The Wildcats survived its non-region schedule and placed their focus on bringing the region championship home back to Dunwoody with contributions from players such as Hayley Pierce and Katrina Gettis along with Sinisgali.

“Everyone on the team has united together and we’re playing to each others’ strengths,” Brown said. “Our common goal is to win the region.”

Dunwoody returns to action on Thursday at North Atlanta.
