A television pilot filmed in Paulding County has been picked up by AMC as a full series, according to a major entertainment industry news source.

AMC recently selected “Halt & Catch Fire” to become a full series, according to the website Deadline Hollywood.

Its pilot episode was filmed in Paulding and the Atlanta area in April.

There has been no official word from AMC if it will come back to the county to film, or when it will start filming the first season.

The crew used the Atlanta Film Studios Paulding County as a headquarters while filming the pilot. Jeremy Hariton is a partner in Road Town Enterprises which operates the film studio.

“We are very excited for the cast and crew of ‘Halt & Catch Fire’ on their pilot pickup. We’d love nothing more than to have them start season one right where they left off on the pilot...at Atlanta Film Studios Paulding County,” he said.

This is the first television pilot filmed in the year-old studio in Hiram.

According to the AMC web site amctv.com, “‘Halt & Catch Fire’ dramatizes the personal computing boom through the eyes of a visionary, an engineer and a computer prodigy whose innovations directly confront the corporate behemoths of the time.”

Executive producer Mark Johnson previously told the Paulding Neighbor he would like to return to Paulding County if the show was picked up.
