Police investigating bank robbery

The Sandy Springs Police Department Monday announced it is investigating a bank robbery that occurred Saturday at about 3:30 p.m. at the SunTrust Bank located inside of Publix, 6615 Roswell Road.

A man entered the bank and presented a note demanding money from the teller. The suspect was given an undisclosed amount of money and then fled on foot. No car was observed.

The suspect is described as a black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 5 feet, 7 inches to 5-9 and 160 to 180 pounds. He also wore black clothing and a ball cap, red and black, with a Chicago Bulls logo on the front.

Sandy Springs Police is a partner with Crime Stoppers of Greater Atlanta. Persons providing information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for this robbery may be eligible for a cash reward.
