Players in District 4 get a short break before the fall baseball season begins in September. Players aged 15 to 18 year olds in Fayette, Coweta, Spalding, Fulton, Henry, Pike, Lamar and Clayton Counties may participate in the District 4 fall Big League program. Age is based on a player’s age on April 30, 2013 (players who turned 19 after April 30 are eligible for fall).
Fall registration is open online through September 6 at www.d4bigleague.com. Games will be played in Peachtree City and surrounding sites. Big League Baseball has offered both spring and fall seasons in the south metro Atlanta area since 2000. The fall season is a great time to get school teams together and prepare for the spring season.
Double headers are played on Saturday or Sunday September 15 – November 3.
District 4 Big League is a competitive recreational league; all players who register in the program are placed on teams. Coach Snider said, “I’m proud that several of our players have gone on to play college baseball. We offer a program for the older teen players that is competitive, affordable and fun. Everyone looks forward to ‘Role Reversal Day’, when players become the managers and coaches and the coaches sit back and watch their players make team decisions.”
Big League Baseball is a division of Little League International. Background checks are conducted on all volunteers and safety of the players is regulated through pitch count and bat requirements.
