Roswell High School alumna and author Lauren McBrayer Miller will be speaking and signing copies of her book, “Parallel,” Tuesday, 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Bookmiser in Roswell.

Miller earned a law degree from University of California-Berkeley and practiced entertainment law in Los Angeles before becoming a full time writer.

She wrote “Parallel” while on maternity leave from law and chronicled it on a blog, which led to an agent and two-book contract with HarperTeen.

“Parallel” tells the story of a girl who wakes up on her 18th birthday in a Yale dorm room with no memory of how she got there. She soon discovers she is in an alternate version of her life.

The book was a Seventeen magazine book club pick for June.

Bookmiser is at 4651 Sandy Plains Road, at the corner of Ga. Hwy 92 and Sandy Plains Road.
