Local players named to All-State football team

A number of local football standouts were among the players who were selected to the Georgia Sports Writers’ All-State team, which was released in late December.

A couple of Milton players – kickoff returner Chad Toliver and punter Matt Moskowitz were named to the Class AAAAAA first-team defense, while Mount Pisgah Christian defensive back Jacob Delk was chosen to the Class A first-team defense.

Second-team selections were Milton linebacker Quarte Sapp and Alpharetta linebacker Bryce Grauss (both AAAAAA defense), Northview wide receiver Matty Biodich (AAAAA offense), Blessed Trinity offensive lineman Austin Werkheiser (AAA offense), Mount Pisgah quarterback Aaron Winchester (Class A offense) and Pisgah defensive lineman Shingi Chigwere (Class A defense),

Honorable mention selections were Chattahoochee wide receiver Collin Lisa (AAAAAA), three Blessed Trinity players – linebacker Pat Jasinski, offensive lineman Zach Mitchler and quarterback/punter/kicker Marc Nolan (AAA) and St. Francis wide receiver Nathan Waller (Class A).

Fellowship Christian names Lindner new AD

Fellowship Christian has selected interim athletic director Bryan Lindner to take the position on a permanent basis.

Lindner has served as Fellowship interim athletic director since last May after having been the school’s assistant athletic director for four years.
