The event, taking place from 8 to 11 p.m., is GirlFriends’ largest annual fundraiser.
The nonprofit is an offshoot of the neighborhood Friends groups of adults who raise money for and volunteer with Children’s. GirlFriends has more than 100 members representing more than 10 local public and private high schools, and the event is run by the students.
Hope Grows will have five local high school bands performing, dinner provided by Chick-fil-A and raffle prizes from lululemon, Atlanta Hawks tickets, Woo Skincare & Cosmetics and many more.
Tickets are $75 per person or $100 per couple and can be purchased online at https://giving.choa.org/battleofthebands.
All proceeds go directly to Children’s and the needs it finds most crucial. During the 2013-14 school year, the Friends groups and girlFriends have chosen to support the following areas at the hospital system: nursing, the Marcus Autism Center, wellness efforts, Hughes Spalding hospital, the Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit and the Friends Research Fund.
