The summer intensive camp will be Monday through July 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Alpharetta Studio. In addition to teaching the campers acting for film, commercials, Meisner technique and improv, the camp will teach character creation, script analysis, on camera auditioning, teleprompter use and several other techniques crucial for young actors.
During the camp, the studio will shoot and edit film scenes and commercials that feature the students. The students will train with working industry professionals from actors to casting directors.
At the conclusion of the week-long program the students will showcase their work in a movie screening room in front of industry guests.
The camp is $695 with an additional $75 showcase fee for those participating.
It is also offering a nine month film acting academy at both the Alpharetta and Midtown locations for actors dedicated to the industry. The academy is a highly selective, audition for acceptance career training program for actors ages 5 to 18. Admission to the program is by invitation only.
Applications are now being accepted for the 2013-14 year. Students will meet weekly from mid-August to May 2014. Studio instructors will determine a placement for each actor based on age and skill level.
At the conclusion of the program students will present their final project, a feature-length film, and arrive to the premiere red carpet style in limousines.
Space is limited for both the camp and the film acting academy.
