The company’s financial position has forced the organization to cancel Disney’s “The Little Mermaid (Sept. 7 through 15)” and “Cats” (Jan. 14 through 19), in what was to be its 61st season. After exhausting every avenue possible to present this season, the continued effects of a slow economy and the financial results of last year’s season precludes the organization from having the resources to mount the current season’s productions. Information is forthcoming as the staff and board of directors are working hard to determine next steps.
The Fox Theatre will now be presenting “Stomp” Sept. 25 through 29. Tickets are on sale at www.FoxTheatre.org or by calling 1-855-285-8499. The Fox will honor all tickets that have already been purchased for “Stomp” including tickets purchased by Theater of the Stars subscribers.
All subscribers are being mailed a letter outlining refund options and details, according to the release.
Please note that the Fox Theatre is not affiliated with Theater of the Stars and is unable to provide any information to subscribers as it relates to their season tickets.
