Ballet North will hold open auditions for “The Nutcracker” on Saturday, Aug. 7, at Ballet North studios in Dallas.
Young performing artists and dancers from Paulding County, Douglasville and West Cobb are welcome.
“The Nutcracker,” choreographed by Ballet North director Christine Auchincloss Fehr, will go beyond the traditional pink satin pointe shoes and shimmery tutus. This community performance will showcase superior classical ballet and traditional folk dances of various world cultures, which meet and exceed Georgia Performance Standards of social science, history, literature and fine arts education.
Mrs. Fehr draws from her artistic training, her 20 years of teaching experience in the ballet studio, and her passion for making the performing arts accessible to everyone in the community to enhance her working relationship with students.
Aspiring dancers ages 6 to 11 require no dance experience to audition. Check-in begins at 10:30 a.m., with the audition promptly beginning at 11 a.m.
Dancers ages 11 and older must have previous ballet training. Check-in begins at 12:30 p.m., with the audition promptly beginning at 1 p.m.
Accommodations will not be made for latecomers.
