For many people, including my mother, tax-free weekend was greatly anticipated, an opportunity to get everything I needed for school at a bit of discount.
Due to the economy and its impact on state revenue, this year's tax-free weekend was cut, leaving many disappointed they wouldn't save $50 or more in taxes on a new laptop or other pricey school-related items.
How has the lack of a tax-free weekend affected you?
Do you normally wait until tax-free weekend to do your back-to-school or personal shopping?
Are you limiting your spending on clothing, computers and other school-related supplies?
To me it is a blessing because the people are not acting like fools rushing around to get anything they can tax free. I have see people knock children down to get to a pack of paper because they would not have to pay tax on it. Even with the tax - break you get the government will get the money back somehow it’s not worth it at all.
