Anna Gruhl new head of Kaiser’s call center
Dunwoody resident Anna Gruhl has joined Kaiser Permanente of Georgia as director of the Member Service Call Center. She is responsible for Customer Service Call Center Operations.
Ms. Gruhl has more than 20 years of call center, claims and national accounts experience with Cigna Health Care in southern California where she served as regional call and claim center director and project director for the national account team.
She recently relocated from San Diego, Calif. Ms. Gruhl also serves on the Board of Governors for the University of Michigan Alumni Association.

Cynthia Edwards promoted
Cynthia Dorsey Edwards was promoted to the position of vice president of institutional advancement for DeKalb Technical College effective July 1. She succeeds Helen Mathis who retired June 30. Ms. Edwards’ role includes serving as executive director for the DeKalb Technical College Foundation.
As vice president of institutional advancement, Ms. Edwards will serve as an advocate for the college to build and maintain positive and mutually beneficial relationships with the public and to increase support for the college’s mission and goals. Also included in this appointment are the responsibilities for directing the development, implementation, and maintenance of a comprehensive internal and external resource development plan for DeKalb Tech. She will oversee the management and supervision of marketing and public relations for the college and the Foundation.
She has worked at DeKalb Tech for more than 14 years. For 13 of those years, she served as director of the Office of Career & Job Search Services.
She serves as a member of the DeKalb Workforce Investment Board and co-chairs its Youth Council. She also serves as chairperson of the DeKalb/Rockdale Department of Labor Employer Committee.
Ms. Edwards earned a bachelor’s degree from North Texas State University.

Allstate agency opens in Dunwoody

Born and raised in Paris, France, Marozeau graduated from the Lausanne hotel management school in Switzerland. He came to Atlanta in 1996 to work in the hospitality industry during the Olympics. Following the Olympics, Marozeau changed his career path and went into the financial services industry.

Parker new college VP
Robert J. Parker has been named vice president of advancement for Agnes Scott College .
Presently the director of capital gifts and associate director of the Arts and Sciences Foundation at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Parker will assume his duties later this summer at Agnes Scott, a national liberal arts college for women in Decatur.
Now in the feasibility stage, the Agnes Scott campaign is designed to enable the college to reach its strategic goals through 2014. The college’s last comprehensive campaign ended in 2005 after surpassing the $60 million goal by more than $10 million.
Parker’s work at UNC-Chapel Hill led the Arts and Sciences Foundation to exceed its $350 million goal in the university-wide $2.3 billion campaign by $37 million. In addition, Parker has served on the fundraising staff at The University of Chicago, where he also earned a master’s degree in divinity and a doctorate in theology. He earned his bachelor’s degree at Baylor University.

Varda joins Private Bank
DeKalb County resident Mark Varda has been named Commercial Credit Analyst at Private Bank of Buckhead. His responsibilities include credit analysis, loan underwriting and loan administration. Private Bank of Buckhead (www.Pri-vateBankOfBuckhead.com) is located in Piedmont Center (Building 3).

Waller new Emory chairman
Lance Waller, Ph.D., has been named Rollins Professor and chairman of the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health. His appointment was effective July 1.
Waller also will serve as associate director of biostatistics and bioinformatics in the Emory Center for Comprehensive Informatics, a multi-disciplinary center that supports translational, clinical or deep integrative studies combining biostatistics and high-performance computing techniques. He joined Emory in 1998 as an associate professor of biostatistics.

A local roofing contractor, D-n-S Roofing, LLC recently replaced my roof shingles because of hail and wind damage and my homeowners insurance covered the cost of the replacement. Dennis Lynn owner of D-n-S Roofing, LLC told me that many roofs have been damaged in our area by the recent hail and wind and qualify for replacement under homeowners insurance policies.
