Following Tuesdays vote a new face will take the reigns of the Hiram City Council’s Post 3 seat.
Stephen S. Bray, a project manager, Teresa R. Laird-Philyaw, a retired realtor and electrician and foreman Billy Sims Jr. have all thrown their hats into the ring.
International sales manager Earlene Graham and missions worker Linda E. Meg Hunt-Williams will vie for the Post 5 seat.
Post 4 candidate Derrick Battle will be unopposed.
In Dallas, at large incumbent Nancy Rakestraw Arnold and Ward 3 incumbent R. Griffin White will face no opposition, while two candidates will battle for Ward 1.
Incumbent Kelly D. Carter will be challenged by Terry D. Johnson.
Deidre Holden, of the Paulding County Board of Registrars, said some deadlines for the election are quickly approaching. The deadline absentee ballots can be mailed out, she said, is Friday. Absentee ballots can be received up to 7 p.m. on election Day,
Voting for the respective elections will take place at Dallas City Hall and Hiram Community Center.
Polls will open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Four-year council terms begin Jan. 1.
