Local county stars and more will shine at the Dallas Theatre on Friday as choirs, soloists, and ensembles present the first annual “A Paulding Musical Christmas” to raise money for numerous local charities and needy families throughout the county.

“We are all very excited to be involved in such a worthwhile event,” said Delamont. “It will be a great opportunity for our whole community to come together and celebrate the wonderful music of the season.”

He presents the event as a benefit concert for a number of worthy Paulding County-area charities. The concert will serve to benefit Helping Hands, Hope House, Paulding Enterprises, First Baptist and United Methodist Christmas charities, and Delamont’s nonprofit group that plays “Taps” at any veterans’ funeral for free.

This event is the brainchild of Delamont, who felt the need for this event because he felt that it would be a great concept and an even greater opportunity to use the talented citizens of Paulding County in a large-scale, family friendly event.

As per his usual work of managing concerts for groups such as the Oak Ridge Boys, Delamont felt a concert would serve to the purpose of exposing the talent to the area in a positive way as the best method.

Delamont, an award winning musician and a noted Paulding musical celebrity in his own right, will serve as the emcee for the evening’s festivities. This concert will feature the mass choirs of Northside Baptist, First United Methodist, and Dallas First Baptist churches. They will be joined by other notable Paulding County performers to include Jeff Eberhart, Papa’s Prayer, The Davis Trio, Natalie Fuller, Kevin Kirby, Sarah Jane Vanek, Rex Glover, Tracy Bonds, Jadyn Hope, Jameson, Robert Ross and Ruthie Evans.

Featured are local youth singers Ruthie Evans and Robert Ross whom are among the numerous highly-acclaimed singers and musicians that will be featured in “A Paulding Musical Christmas.” Both of them, only 10-years-old, have sung and acted in numerous area talent-shows and other special events. The young Ross is a singer and a dancer who is part of the Showbiz Kids and Dance Company. He will perform a jazz rendition of the song “Jingle Bells” at the concert and feels “it’s going to be awesome!”

The tickets for this event are on sale at the Paulding Chamber of Commerce and through the Dallas Theatre box office, or through anyone participating in the event. Prices are $25 for adults, students and children fro $15, and there is a 20 percent discount for senior citizens and for groups of 10 people or more.

“We have a lot of very talented people here in our community, and I felt that we needed to bring many of them together for a celebration of festive Christmas music,” Mr. Delamont said.
