To keep anxious young ones busy this summer, there are several camps available for south Fulton County youth of all ages. Everything from sports, self-esteem and arts are covered in the below summer day camps.
Summer Dance Camp
Ballethnic Academy of Dance, 2587 Cheney St. in East Point, will offer several camps this summer for youth dancers. Its Arts Transition Camp will be held June 1 to June 26, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. A pre-camp will be held June 22 to June 26, noon to 5 p.m.; the Summer Dance Diversity Camp is June 29 to July 25, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Theater performance
The Southwest Arts Center, 915 New Hope Road in Atlanta, will host the True Colors Theatre Company’s performance of “Blues for an Alabama Sky”.
The piece was written by Pearl Cleage and directed by Andrea Frye. It will be held now until May 31. For tickets, visit www.truecolorstheatre.org.

County day camp programs
The Fulton County Departments of Parks and Recreation has begun registration for its popular Summer Day Camp Program which runs from June 1 to July 31. Fees begin at $70 per week with sibling discounts. Included in the fees are field trips to Stone Mountain and White Water, breakfast and lunch everyday, swimming, a camp t-shirt, professional entertainers and more. Camp Allegro
Fulton County and Atlanta band and orchestra students who want to tune up their musical skills over the summer can now register for Camp Allegro, a day camp for students entering grades fifth through eighth. It will be held June 15 to 19 at A. Phillip Randolph, 5320 Campbellton Road in southwest Atlanta. Camp hours are Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. The camp will conclude with students performing a finale concert on that Friday at noon. Registration is $120. Students will need their own instruments. Summer instrument rentals are available at Jackson’s Music stores.

Leadership Day Camp
The National Urban Coalition for Unity and Peace (NUCUP) is accepting registration for its NUCUP Math & Science Summer Leadership Academy Day Camp. It will be held June 8 to July 31 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church, 1385 Gus Thornhill Jr. Dr. in East Point.
Campers will experience skills to improve interest and scores in math and science, recreational activities and field trips. Breakfast and lunch are included.

Summer Camp
Tayo Reed’s International Academy of Dance will host a summer camp from June 1 to July 31. It will be held at the academy, 6703 Shannon Pkwy., Suite 8, in Union City. Registration is $35, with an $80 weekly fee, which includes breakfast and lunch. Camp hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and is for youth ages 4 to 17. It will offer classes in ballet, tap, hip hop, modern, jazz, African, country line dance, drama, voice and more.

East Point day camp
The East Point Parks and Recreation department will host a summer day camp May 26 to July 31. It will be held from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for youth ages 5 to 14 at the Jefferson Recreation Center, 1431 Norman Berry Dr. in East Point. Cost is $65 per child and is due upon registration; it includes breakfast and lunch. Camp includes arts and crafts, sports, games, swimming, special events, field trips and group activities.

Providence summer camp
Providence Baptist Church, 1773 Hawthorne Ave. in College Park, will host a summer camp June 1 to July 31. Cost is $55 for one child; $50 per child for multiple children. Registration fee is $25. Meals are included as a partnership with the Georgia Summer Food Service Program for eligible participants. DFSC Childcare assistance is accepted.

Camp Diva
Camp Diva will offer an eight week day camp with fun and educational hands-on activities for girls ages 8 to 18. DIVAS stands for ‘Dynamic Individuals Vicariously Achieving Success’. The camp will offer many traditional summer camp activities such as sports, arts, music, dance, modeling, drama and field trips. It will also provide unique and powerful experiences through yoga, visits to day spas, meditation, nutrition, etiquette workshops and more. The camp is designed to help girls gain personal power, build self-confidence, and balance the mind, body, and spirit while developing keep and lasting friendships and memories. Summer arts camp
The South Fulton Arts Center, 4645 Butner Road in College Park, will host its summer arts camp June 1 to July 10. It will be held 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and will offer arts-based curriculum including music, dance theatre and visual arts. During the morning students rotate through all the disciplines to gain a well rounded experience in the arts. The camp fee is $85 per child, per one week session. The camp is broken up into six, one-week sessions. Breakfast is provided daily by the city of Atlanta’s free lunch program. Students need to bring their own lunch and additional snack if desired.
