North Fulton libraries packed with summer activities

The libraries of north Fulton are in full gear for summer. The branches will host an array of activities involving arts, crafts, journals, storytelling and more.

The Ocee Branch will feature Visual Dreams: Art Journaling Thursday at 11 a.m. for ages 6 to 12. Out of the Box Art Studio will teach children how to collect their dreams and memories and turn them into art in this hands-on workshop.

The Ocee Branch will also hold a course on Dream Catchers Thursday at 2 p.m. Teens ages 12 to 18 will create dream catchers to place over their beds to help catch good dreams and chase bad dreams away.

The Alpharetta Branch will host an event teaching adults to create a journal for writing before bedtime June 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. Registration is required in advance.

The Alpharetta branch will also host Wild Goose Chase Theater, a shadow puppet show, this Thursday at 11:30 a.m. for ages 3 to 10.

During the show, Matt Sandbank takes the audience to a world filled with dancing pants, lovesick witches, mischievous spaceships and more whimsical images. Poetry springs hilariously to life as soon as Sandbank’s handmade, expressive shadow puppets hit the screen. Ages 3-10.

Wild Goose Chase Theater will also take place Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at the Roswell Branch for ages 3 to 8. Reservations are required in advance.

Queen Glitter will return to the Roswell Branch June 11 at 6:30 p.m. with her enchanting stories. The event is for ages 3 to 10.

The Northeast/Spruill Oaks Branch will welcome Dr. Tom Comedy with his Mime and Theatre Show June 11 at 10:30 a.m.

With his innovative blend of European style clowning, illusionary technique and stand-up comedy, Dr. Tom presents mime as an accessibly and vital art form. He acts out silent stories that provoke laughter, thought and feeling for ages 5 to 12.

Ken Scott will bring his Magic Show to the Northeast/Spruill Oaks Branch June 12 at 10:30 a.m. Kids ages 5 to 12 will enjoy a morning of magical storytelling adventures.

The Northeast/Spruill Oaks Branch will also host My Reptile Guys June 13 at 10:30 and noon. The all-ages show is interactive and features child-friendly animals that bring books to life. All shows include a petting zoo session for kids to touch and hold reptiles and for parents to take photos.
