Hammond ramps to close for a half hour Saturday

Lanes will be closed on Interstates 85 and 285 and several state routes including Ga. 400 this weekend for construction activities, weather permitting, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

In Fulton County, the ramps of the Hammond Half Diamond Interchange at Ga. 400 will be closed from 8 to 8:30 a.m. for the Dash for Dad Road Race Saturday.

"We have a very busy construction weekend planned, especially on a number of our state routes," said GDOT District Construction Engineer Lee Upkins. "I would recommend checking out the NaviGAtor website or dialing 511 to check your route no matter where you are going in the metro area this weekend."
