Libraries host summer reading, entertainment

As the summer months continue, the North Fulton libraries continue to have activities for all ages.

The Northeast/Spruill Oaks Branch will hold a class on Visual Dreams: Art Journaling, Wednesday at 2 p.m.

Out of the Box Art Studio will teach teens how to creatively collect their thoughts, dreams and memories and turn them into art with paint, layer, splatter, collage and write. This is for ages 12 to 18 and limited to the first 30.

The Alpharetta Branch will feature a Health Emergency Presentation for Teens June 26 at 2:30 p.m. Get ready with this introductory presentation to help you know what to do in health emergencies. The event is a cooperative effort of the American Red Cross and G.I.L.L.S. meant for ages 12 to 18. Reservations are recommended because space is limited.

The Ocee Branch will feature a Dreaming Big and Drawing Comics With Galaxy Man Thursday at 11 a.m. Kyle Puttkammer is an educator, entertainer, comic shop owner and creator of the “Galaxy Man” comic series. In this special presentation, he will teach children everything they need to know about creating their own comics, from finding inspiration to marketing their final product. For ages 5 to 12, and space is limited to the first 30 children.

Just Yell Fire is a program designed to help empower and educate girls on street safety and self – defense. This program will be featured Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Ocee Branch. The program is for girls ages 12 to 18.

Music Together for Babies an interactive music class for babies will be featured at the Roswell Branch Thursday at 10:15 a.m. Jennifer Fargar teaches the class. There will be lots of singing, movement and musical instruments. For ages 0 to 11 months. The class is limited to 20.

The Roswell Branch will feature the ZooMobile June 25 at 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. An educator from Zoo Atlanta will present an exciting program with live animals and fun activities. This program will be indoors and for ages 3 to 10. Reservations begin June 18.

The Roswell Branch will host the Mystery Readers’ Book Club June 26 at 6:30 p.m. The book discussed will be The Hound of the Baskervilles by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This group is co-sponsored by the Friends of the Roswell Library. All are welcome.
