Archivist for the Roswell Historical/city of Roswell Research Library and Archives, Elaine DeNiro said there was a Cox family in the area around 1840. “I have no idea if this family is related to Bobby Cox,” DeNiro said. “They appear in store ledgers and in census of the times. Also, family members are buried in the Ebenzer Baptist Church cemetery.” DeNiro also said Cox Road can be found in maps dated back to 1942 and may appear on ealier ones.
