The McDonough resident opened her concept business for entrepreneurs, like herself, named The Office Space on May 1.
“It was actually something that I knew was a need,” said Gackowski, who is a Mary Kay sales director. “When I was basically opening my business from home, it was too big to do it at home.”
She likened her space issues to be one that is a common thread among other female entrepreneurs, which is why she decided to open The Office Space.
A full menu of business services are offered at The Office Space, including desk space, a conference room for business meetings, a receptionist to answer phones during business hours, internet access, black, white and color copiers, voicemail, and a slew of other resources for businesses.
The concept is that a small business owner can be met at their immediate needs, whether that is a desk space away from their home or a place to have mail directed.
For those who need an alternative to the hotel conference room route, Office Space’s conference room holds 200 people. Winsor Art Gallery, which is nearby, works with Gackowski and can also accommodate similar meetings.
Since Gackowski has been a resident of the city for the past 25 years, choosing the location was an automatic, especially in relation to the square.
“McDonough is really a hidden gem,” she said. “I just like that atmosphere here. There are some great local restaurants.”
Although the business is only nearing the two-month mark, already clients are reporting positive results, said Gackowski.
“I have so many people that we have sit down about their business that are now reporting positive cash flow,” she said. “They are taking the skills that we’ve taught and are successful in their own right.”
