The rockets’ red glare — as well as blue, green and any number of colors — will fill the skies across north Fulton as people celebrate Independence Day.

Matilda’s Cottage off South Main Street in Alpharetta will be holding their annual bluegrass concert and barbeque on July 4.

“It’ll be the same as past years,” said owner Mary Jane Potter “It’s a lot of fun and we can see the Wills Park fireworks from the backyard. Just a lot of good music and fun.”

The festivities will start at 7 p.m. Music will be played by The Mighty Bisons and fireworks will start at dusk.

For those wanting to go straight to Wills Park for the night, the Alpharetta Recreation and Parks Department will have inflatables, face painting and games from 5 to 8 p.m. behind the Alpharetta Community Center. The Alpharetta City band will perform at 6 p.m. followed by Serious Business. The fireworks will begin at dusk.

On July 5 the celebration will continue with an American Patriotic Wind Ensemble Concert at 7 p.m. at the Alpharetta Adult Activity Center.

The city of Roswell will celebrate Independence Day with their Fireworks Extravaganza at Rowell High School. The entertainment for the night will begin at 6 p.m. with Back Trax at 6 and Banks & Shane at 7:30. Radio personality Moby will emcee the night and the evening will conclude with a 30-minute fireworks display at dark.

The Crabapple Community Association will have their second Crabapple 4th of July Walking Parade at 9 a.m. The parade will start at Crabapple Baptist Church or Strawberry Fields and some local businesses will be open for lunch afterwards.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will play their All-America Celebration July 4 at 8 p.m. at the Verizon Amphitheater. Tickets are $35 for a table seat, $25 for reserved seating and $15 for the lawn.
