Rucker was a real dog, who lived in 1900 on a farm just outside of the city of Roswell with the James Jasper Stewart family.
Now, he’s being employed to help the Roswell Historical Society share some interesting historical facts about Roswell.
During the coming months, through a series of games, contests, publications and events, residents will have the opportunity to learn more about the area and interact with Rucker.
The first interactive game Rucker is playing is to ask residents what breed of dog they think he is.
Visit www.roswellhs.org/Rucker.html to see Rucker’s picture and email him about his breed.
Through a blog at ruckerinroswell.blogspot.com, the new mascot will post information about Roswell’s history.
