It feels like it always rains on election days around here. But that doesn't stop north Fulton residents, including me, from getting out and voting. We have to get those fancy Georgia Voter stickers somehow, right?

When I walked up to my precinct at Centennial High School, I have to admit, I was a little confused. The voting was not taking place where it normally does. I tried to open the side door, but it was locked. I was becoming a bit confused when a nice faculty member let me in and told me voting was in the media center this year and voters should use the school's front entrance.

Crisis averted.

As usual, there was no wait to vote and the poll workers were polite and quick. I was pushing buttons — my favorite part — within about two minutes. It probably helped that I finally updated my driver's license to reflect my current residency.

Only one other person was voting when I arrived and two more came in as I was leaving. It was 10 a.m., though, so it probably picked up at lunchtime.

From parking at the school to getting back in my car, voting probably took 10 minutes. Maybe less.

Voting was the easy part of my morning — I still had to drive another five miles on Holcomb Bridge Road in the rain.
