For one evening in Roswell, Santa Fe, South Beach and San Francisco will be just a trolley ride away. Anyone who likes a good time with great food, themed to three of the nation’s most interesting cities, will want to snap up tickets to the fourth Annual Trilogy Trolley Crawl Aug. 18. From 7 to 11:30 p.m., participants will be ferried to the city’s Southern Trilogy historic museum homes via trolley to enjoy the three cities’ regional cuisine and entertainment.

“We tried to pick cities that had distinct flavors to them,” said Smith Plantation Site Director Chuck Douglas, who is transforming Smith into Miami’s South Beach for the Crawl.

Those flavors will be interpreted by one of the metro area’s premiere caterers, Endive.

“Everything Endive does is homemade and very, very fresh. They even grow their own herbs. At Smith, shrimp cocktail with mango salsa and mini key lime tarts will conjure the South Beach spirit,” Douglas said.

There will be lounge chairs, beach umbrellas, cabana boys and a professional salsa instructor to guide visitors though the sultry subtropical moves of one of South Beach’s favorite dances.

Visitors to Smith may also register to win an actual trip for two to South Beach. Peace, love and flower power are the order of the night at Barrington Hall’s San Francisco scene. Roving Hare Krishnas will set the mood as visitors drift through the grounds and explore all the city has to offer.

A decorated Volkswagen microbus will serve as a photo venue, and instruction in “roll your own” tobacco cigarettes will be offered.

To represent San Francisco’s total grooviness, Fisherman’s Wharf-style horseradish crusted black cod with cucumber dill salsa and Ghirardelli chocolate brownies with caramel and crushed pretzel are on the menu.

The Southwestern allure of Santa Fe will envelop the grounds of Bulloch Hall. Nuevo Flamenco, Brazilian and jazz on Spanish guitar will entrance visitors, who may feel moved to take a mini-lesson from the Flamenco dancers who will be performing throughout the night.

Trolleys will continuously loop to transport guests from site to site and parking is available at each site with additional parking at the First Baptist Church parking lot on Mimosa Boulevard. Guests may begin the evening at any of the three locations.

The $40 ticket for the Trilogy Trolley Crawl entitles the holder to a sampler plate at each of the three historic homes and one drink.

Tickets may be purchased online at www.roswellgov.com, at Roswell City Hall in suite 100, at the Roswell Cultural Arts Center, Taylor Kinzel Gallery and The Chandlery Gifts in historic Roswell, at the Roswell Visitors Center or any of the Southern Trilogy homes.
