More on Josh: Anderson led his team in tackles as a sophomore in 2010 as he averaged 7.9 per game. In 2011 Anderson was named to the AAAA Region 5 South first team. In July Anderson committed to Troy after being offered one of the two spots they had available. Anderson said he likes all that Troy has to offer in a school and a football program.

More on Chris: Byrd worked his way on to the varsity team over the summer prior to the 2011 season and, in game one, he proved himself as he was vital in a 41-37 victory over North Paulding. Byrd scored two touchdowns in his first game on the varsity squad and has not looked back. In 2011, Byrd only played three games on defense but had 23 tackles. Byrd was named to the 2011 AAAA Region 5 South second offensive team.

More on R.J.: Williams was a first-year starter and began the 2011 season with back-to-back victories in which he passed for 600 yards and rushed for 352 yards. Williams continued to make large yardage throughout the season.

More on Kelin: Wells began making plays for Cass as a freshman in the first scrimmage of the year. In 2011 Wells made a great showing in his first varsity start against Woodland as he added 242 yards to his stat sheet, including a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown. “He’s football savvy. He has big play potential all the time. He can ‘take it to the house’ at any time,” said head coach Rick Casko.

Slemp’s longest field goal was 46 yards, which he kicked twice in the same game.

More on Ellis: Richardson started as the varsity quarterback last season as a junior. He got his start at QB on the junior varsity team. In 2010 Richardson was sacked six times, but his coach said he still maintained his poise. Richardson is said to be great at studying film and learning who to pass to and when. Richardson’s father and brother both played for Clemson.
