Time for the band to fine tune that all-to-familiar fight song, time for the cheerleaders to break out the pom-poms, time for parents to shake their noisemakers and time for the lights at 13 stadiums across North Fulton to shine bright on the area’s gridiron stars.
Yes football season is here, and outside of the players coming off two straight weeks of two-a-days, nobody is more excited about that fact than me.
See, my excitement stems from two things. An endless passion for all things football (which I share with many of you) and my first fall covering north Fulton football. From the day I was assigned to this post in April, I’ve done my best to get up to speed on the ins and outs of north Fulton football — keeping an eye on the top recruits, studying the history and rivalries of each program, and talking with each coach to get a comprehensive view of where his program stands today and where he plans to take them in the future.
The culmination of that research is in your hands now, and within these next few pages I’ll do my best Ron Jaworski impression and take you “Inside the Huddle” of all 13 schools and provide and in depth look at the storylines highlighting each team’s upcoming season.
So with all of that being said, I hope you enjoy our preview and the 2012 season that follows. But I’m still left with one question for you.
Are you ready for some football?
I know I am.
