In a statement posted to its website, the Midtown-based orchestra said it continues to negotiate with musicians on a new agreement.
“While the current contract between the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Atlanta Federation of Musicians expired on Aug. 25, both parties are continuing to work towards a solution. Negotiations are ongoing,” the statement read.
According to the orchestra’s website, it had a $6 million budget deficit for fiscal 2013, and has trimmed $1 million in operating costs. It has provided a Q&A on the contract negotiations and budget on its website.
