The school system is using the space to park a portion of its bus fleet while they are reconstructing a retaining wall that collapsed at their Hembree Road bus yard.
In the past two weeks a chain link fence was erected around a parking lot on the western side of the Milton Center Campus, a lot that fronts a portion of Milton Avenue.
According to the city, some nearby residents became concerned earlier this week when a number of school buses appeared and it became apparent that the property was being used as a bus yard.
Officials with Fulton County Schools have reassured the city that, as soon as the construction project at their Hembree Road facility is completed, the buses and fencing at Milton Center will be removed.
