In three games, Terry has three punt returns for scores—a 61-yard TD run in the team’s season opener and two during a 42-0 rout of Rockdale County on Sept. 14.
“I really like how I returned the second one against Rockdale,” Terry said. “I fielded it well, got to the sideline and got behind the wall. I did my assignment correctly.”
“I just remember him just attacking the ball and believing that his teammates would give him a crease to hit,” Drew coach Jarrett Laws said. “He trusts his teammates’ blocking without question and that is reflective of his personality.”
And an identity that causes Laws to compare Terry to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.
“Off the field, he’s as quiet and respectful as I’ve ever seen in 15 years of coaching,” Laws said. “If he says 10 words a day, I’m shocked. But when the lights cut on, he turns into a giant amongst men disguised as a little running back—just fearless.”
Last Friday, Terry rushed for two touchdowns in a 28-3 win against McIntosh.
